PARSIPPANY - A New Jersey veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder says he was kicked out of a 7-Eleven for bringing his service dog inside.

Michael Deitch says he went into the North Beverwyk Road store in Parsippany Monday at around noon to get his dog some water. An employee apparently told him he had to leave, because a dog couldn't be in a store that served food.

Deitch says his dog Sox is federally protected under the American with Disabilities Act. He says he was especially disappointed that this happened on Memorial Day.

"It's just very humiliating and very disrespectful," he says. "It needs to be told and it needs to be heard."

Deitch is a military police veteran, as well as a civilian police veteran.

He says he filed an Americans with Disability Act complaint, as well as a complaint with the 7-Eleven corporation.
