EDISON - The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has put more than 250 of its own trucks - and just as many additional contractors - out on the roads that are sanding, salting and plowing where needed.

The Turnpike Authority, while trying to stay ahead of the fast-falling snowfall, is also advising residents who venture onto the roads to use caution.

"Even if the speed limit says one thing - don't test it. Go as slow as you can and stay behind our plows and trucks ? we'll do all we can to keep it safe out there," says New Jersey Turnpike Authority spokesman Joe Orlando.
