FAIR LAWN - Authorities say a woman was struck and killed by a Hoboken-bound train earlier today.

According to officials, the incident happened at the Broadway Station in Fair Lawn just after 9 a.m.

Witnesses say the conductor sounded the train's horn, but ultimately could not stop the train in time. Witnesses also said that the woman did not try to move out of the train's path.

New Jersey Transit says it is currently investigating whether the incident was an accident or a suicide.
