NJ Transit service resumes as normal (3/14/14)

NEWARK - New Jersey Transit service has resumed as normal following a day of delays.  Both the Northeast Corridor line, as well as the New Jersey Coast line have resumed service to the Newark Airport stop.

This was the last problem left for NJ Transit following a day of delays stemming from a tanker truck explosion on Route 21 in Newark.

That explosion was so powerful that it damaged train tracks and overhead wires coming out of Newark Penn Station, leading to the delays.

On Thursday, commuters were delayed for hours while repairs were made to the transit infrastructure as well as to Route 21.
