NJ Transit's 'Text Against Terror' program yields hundreds of tips

EDISON - NJ Transit's 'Text Against Terror' program has yielded more than 300 tips since it launched in June 2011.

Officials say more than 20 percent of those messages referred to homeland security issues, although most were found not to be cause for any concern.

NJ Transit passengers are encouraged to text any suspicious activity to NJTPD or 65873.
