NJ Transit: Rail service restored for p.m. commute

(AP) - NJ Transit says train service will be onor close to schedule for the evening commute after overhead wireproblems caused lengthy delays Tuesday morning.

METUCHEN - (AP) - NJ Transit says train service will be onor close to schedule for the evening commute after overhead wireproblems caused lengthy delays Tuesday morning.

The downed wires in Metuchen forced the evacuation of severalhundred people off one train and caused delays of up to an hour onthe busy Northeast Corridor Line.

The tracks are owned by Amtrak. An Amtrak spokesman says thelast of four tracks affected by the problem has been put back intoservice.
