NJ Transit plans additional service for holiday week

NJ Transit is deploying customer service representatives and volunteers at major facilities to assist customers with rail and bus service ahead of the Thanksgiving travel

ISELIN - NJ Transit is deploying customer service representatives and volunteers at major facilities to assist customers with rail and bus service ahead of the Thanksgiving travel rush.

The agency says it will offer an additional "early getaway" service tomorrow from New York Penn Station, Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal starting at 1 p.m. on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley, Morris & Essex and Pascack Valley lines.

Trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule on Thanksgiving with additional trains headed into New York City for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

NJ Transit will also offer extra bus service to many New Jersey malls.
