NJ Transit Executive Director James Weinstein has announced that he is stepping down. Weinstein informed employees in a letter Tuesday that he has submitted a letter of resignation to Gov. Chris Christie and will leave March 2.

Weinstein, who held the position for four years, oversaw several projects that expanded the reach of NJ Transit, the third largest transit agency in the country.
