EDISON - New Jersey Transit says that the agency will modify rail service Wednesday following a major winter storm.

Rail service will operate on a Presidents Day schedule. NJ Transit says this schedule “is more robust than a weekend schedule, with additional service on some lines…However, trains do not operate out of Jersey Avenue on the Northeast Corridor or west of Raritan and Lake Hopatcong.”

NJ Transit also says that bus service will resume regular service for buses that run south of Route 195 Wednesday. Bus service north of the highway may experience delays and detours due to road conditions following the storm.

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, Newark Light Rail and RiverLINE will all operate on regular weekday schedules. Cross-honoring systemwide will also be in effect.

Amtrak will also be operating on a modified schedule due to the aftereffects of the storm.

Travelers are urged to check the NJ Transit and Amtrak websites to find out the status of their trains.
