NJ teacher punished for comments caught on undercover video

PASSAIC - A teacher from Passaic County has been suspended after being caught making a racial slur and other controversial comments on an undercover video.

The educator, Alissa Ploshnick is being punished for comments she made at an NJEA Leadership Conference over the summer. Ploshnick was suspended for nine days and will be docked a pay raise.

Ploshnick was secretly recorded making the remarks on the "Teachers Union Gone Wild" video shot by James O'Keefe III. O'Keefe is a self-proclaimed citizen journalist best known for dressing up as a pimp for an investigation into the non-profit group ACORN.

The teachers union spokesperson told News 12 New Jersey, "It's over as far as we're concerned. She's been disciplined. She's accepted the discipline. There's nothing else to say."
