EDISON - Tara Sullivan, a sports columnist for The Record, was with a small group of reporters that trailed Rory McIlroy into the locker room after he lost in the final round of the Masters at Augusta National.
Sullivan says she tried to make her way into the locker room, but security stepped in front of her, saying women weren't allowed in.
Women sports reporters do have the right to go where their male colleagues have access, but the McIlroy interview was over before an official could be found to straighten things out.
Sullivan says that within hours, a Masters' official had apologized to her, explaining the security guard was misinformed about club policy. Sullivan says she accepted the apology and her hope is that they make sure the same mistake doesn't happen next year.
