METUCHEN - New Jersey residents are flocking to their local travel agencies as temperatures continue to hover around the freezing mark.

Travel agents at Metuchen Travel tell News 12 New Jersey that the more snow there is on the ground, the more customers they hear from. Winter weather also makes for more work for travel agents, as travelers face weather-related issues including cancellations.

The travel agents say popular destinations requested this month include Mexico, the Dominican Republic and cruises. The agency says it is possible to book a last-minute trip, but there might be big airfare prices.
