NJ residents hit the Jersey Shore as temps climb

BELMAR - Many people around New Jersey headed outdoors today as temperatures began to climb.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says although the higher temperatures were reached in western parts of the state, Belmar temperatures reached the low 70s today.

Several beaches in Belmar were crowded with folks trying to soak up the sunshine.

Students at nearby HW Mountz Elementary School in Spring Lake were excited for recess in the nice weather and didn't want to have to go back inside. Winter comes to a close this weekend. Spring officially begins at 11:21 p.m. Sunday night.
