EDISON - A statewide warning is being issued to owners of homes and commercial buildings to remove the snow from their rooftops.

The advisory comes after dozens of roof collapses were reported amid last week's snowstorms.

Yesterday afternoon, another collapse was reported at a warehouse in Passaic. Officials say the roofs were not designed to handle the stress induced by the heavy, frozen snow.

Engineers will be back out at a Target in Riverdale to examine its roof, after the store was evacuated out of fear of a collapse. The store, located on Route 23, closed at 6 p.m. Friday.

An employee at the Target said there was an enormous amount of snow to be cleared. There is no word yet on when the store will reopen.
