EDISON - Nominations for the 85th annual Academy Awards are out, and New Jersey is well represented.
Millburn's own Anne Hathaway is nominated for best supporting actress for her role in "Les Miserables." The film is also nominated for best picture.
Maplewood native Tim Squyres is nominated for his editing work in "Life of Pi."
Another Jersey connection comes from Cynthia Wade who is nominated in the category of Documentary Short Form for her film "Mondays at Racine." The film focuses on a Long Island hair salon that provides free beauty treatments to women undergoing chemotherapy.
This is Wade's second nomination. She won in the same category in 2008 for "Freeheld." That film told the emotional story of Detective Laurel Hester, who was dying from cancer while fighting with the Board of Chosen Freeholders of Ocean County to leave her pension to her partner.
Leading the list of nominees is the film "Lincoln" with a total of 12 Oscar nods. The 85th annual Academy Awards will be held on Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
