NEWARK - Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and Newark Mayor Cory Booker were among the dignitaries expected to attend the annual "Blue Mass" being celebrated today by the Archdiocese of Newark.

The Mass, held at Newark's Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, honors law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty or have recently passed away.

It comes the same day a wake is being held for Newark Detective Michael Morgan, who was fatally shot earlier this week. Two people were arrested yesterday in connection with the shooting, which occurred early Monday during a robbery outside a Paterson strip club where the off-duty officer was attending a party.

Nine other officers who died in 2010 and 2011 also will be honored at the Mass.
