EDISON - Even before President Barack Obama announced that Osama bin Laden was dead, a crowd gathered outside the White House in preparation for an announcement.

Katie Sagona, an American University student from Park Ridge, was part of the group and talked with News 12 New Jersey via Skype today.

Sagona says she first learned about bin Laden's death when a friend called with the news. She then watched the president's speech and joined hundreds of other young people outside the White House to celebrate.

Of the experience, Sagona said, "It was amazing; it was exciting. It just really lifted your heart for so many reasons."
