NJ National Guard unit returns home after 10 months in Afghanistan

WEST TRENTON - The 117th Combat Support Battalion of the New Jersey National Guard returned home safely from a 10-month tour in Afghanistan today.

The unit was deployed to southern Afghanistan to support combat operations in the Kandahar Province. Lt. Col. Paul Rumberger says the 67 men and women of his unit logged more than 2 million miles over treacherous roads to deliver critical supplies to American troops.

The members of the battalion say they are happy to finally be home.
