BORDENTOWN - (AP) - More than 100 citizen soldiers in New Jersey are preparing to deploy to Afghanistan.
Members if the 150th Engineer Company will leave the Hammonton armory for Camp Shelby, Miss., on Monday.
The unit will end up in Afghanistan, where members will help dismantle U.S. military bases as the area is returned to Afghan forces.
The unit is comprised of soldiers from 19 of the state's 21 counties.
Lt. Gov. Kin Guadagno and the state's adjutant general, Brig. Gen. Michael Cunniff, are slated to join families for a departure ceremony in Bordentown on Saturday.
