TRENTON - New Jersey's Department of Transportation has sent out the call for snowplow operators.
The state is seeking truckers with commercial driver's licenses. DOT officials say that the agency will teach drivers how to plow snow. The on-call jobs pay about $43 per hour.
The effort is aimed at augmenting the DOT's current road force which is still involved in finishing the cleanup from Hurricane Sandy.
It will also help if there's a storm like the December 2010 blizzard that dumped up to 32 inches of snow on New Jersey and left cars and trucks stranded on major roads overnight.
