MOUNTAINSIDE - Drivers face slick conditions after a winter storm brought over a foot of snow to the Garden State.
The sloppy mix of snow and face-stinging sleet grounded hundreds of flights yesterday in Newark and closed schools, businesses and government centers.
Many schools across the state remain closed or are starting late today.
Many roads are still slick and covered in slush, snow and ice. Drivers are urged to use extra caution and allow for extra travel time today.
Transportation Department plows and salt-spreaders are on the major highways. There are speed restrictions on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.
