BERKLEY HEIGHTS - One lucky New Jersey Cub Scout is still beaming after being given the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to meet the president and many other top-ranking government officials.

Vasant Bhardwaj, 9, of Berkley Heights, was one of a few randomly selected scouts from across the nation given the opportunity to travel to the nation's capital.

Bhardwaj said he was nervous about meeting the president, but once he stepped into the Oval Office, he felt calm.

Bhardwaj wants others to know that Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts shouldn't be teased or called names because what they learn could one day save their lives.
