Forecasters are calling for another hot day as New Jersey cleans up from intense thunderstorms.Utility crews are working to restore electricity to over 1,000 homes

EDISON - Forecasters are calling for another hot day as New Jersey cleans up from intense thunderstorms.

Utility crews are working to restore electricity to over 1,000 homes and businesses this morning. Most of those are Jersey Central Power and Light customers in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

The storms packed heavy rain and high wind gusts.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says there's the possibility of more thunderstorms today along with heat and humidity.

An excessive heat warning is in effect for counties along the Delaware River and a heat advisory is posted for south Jersey.
