EDISON - Today marks National Doughnut Day!

The “holiday” was first started in the 1930s by the Salvation Army to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

Uncle Dood’s Donuts in Toms River is celebrating the day with a special sandwich made with donuts, buttercream and fruit.
