NJ 'Best Beaches' winners announced

SANDY HOOK - The Wildwoods have once again taken top honors in New Jersey's annual best beaches contest.

The New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium, along with tourism and environmental officials, announced the winners of the annual Top 10 beaches contest during a news conference today in Sandy Hook.

The following beaches rounded out the top 10 list:

Ocean CityLong Beach Island townsSea Isle City Belmar Cape May Manasquan Island Beach State Park Sandy Hook Seaside Heights

The contest mixes the results of direct voting online, with scientific analysis of beaches on environmental and other criteria to rank the top 10 finishers.
