EDISON - The New Jersey Department of Labor has teamed up with the New Brunswick-based Intersect Fund to launch a new, free program designed to help the unemployed start their own business.

Entrepreneur University offers the unemployed a nine-week training and mentoring program on the basics of running a business. Once they've completed the program, they can apply to borrow up to $10,000 to officially launch the business.

Organizers believe the program is a key part to economic and job growth in New Jersey.
