NJ-based ice cream expanding to China

PRINCETON - Business for a locally based ice cream chain may be getting sweeter after it announced plans to expand in China.

Thomas Sweet Ice Cream, based in Princeton, has partnered with Chinese associates to help open stores in the country.

Marco Cucchi, the owner of the chain, say the plan is to open up to 200 stores across China over the next five-10 years.

Cucchi says opening stores in China will give him the revenue needed to expand the chain in the U.S. as well.
