EDISON - The nation's largest gun-rights lobby group is calling for armed police officers in every American school one week after 20 children and six teachers were killed in Newtown, Conn.

Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's president, blamed violent video games, the movie industry, and the media for inspiring gunmen and spawning copycats.

The press conference was interrupted several times by protesters who blamed the NRA for the events in Newtown.
