NEWARK - Last week News 12 New Jersey spoke with Kisha Curtis, who claimed that she left her abused pit bull "Patrick" with the security guard in her building, but the guard is now telling a different story.
Mark Ortman says that things didn't play out exactly how Curtis describes. Curtis said she didn't have the dog long enough to give him a name, but Ortman says that isn't the case.
According to Ortman, the first time he saw Patrick was back in January when he found the pup tied to a railing in a stairwell leading to the roof of the Garden Spires Apartments.
He says he went door to door trying to locate the owner, eventually findingCurtis in apartment 19A. Ortman says that Curtis readily admitted it was her dog.
Ortman says he found the dog in the stairwell a week or two later and again, returned the dog to Curtis.
Ortman says he doesn't know if it was Curtis who threw Patrick down the garbage chute, but he does know that Curtis had the dog for more than a couple of days, as she has claimed.
