News 12 New Jersey examines how consumers can save money

EDISON - Even with high rates of unemployment and foreclosures, many are still wasting money.

AOL WalletPop came up with a list with help from their readers for how to save money. At the top of their list was bottled water, which seems to be suffering a backlash.

Experts say you can save money by buying a water filter and using the water right from the tap.

Other wastes of money include energy drinks such as Rockstar, Red Bull and Monster. Experts say forget the talk about B vitamins, the key ingredients in the drinks are caffeine and sugar. Buying coffee at high-end shops is also on the list of money wasters from WalletPop, as well as purchasing "premium" gasoline when most cars are actually designed to run on regular gas.
