NEWARK - A Newark school bus and another vehicle collided Tuesday morning in an apparent hit-and-run.

Jennifer Cruz says her car was smashed at the intersection of Delavan and Lincoln avenues just before 9 a.m. She says she had just dropped her daughter off at school before the incident.

Police say the bus driver ran a stop sign and did not stop after the crash. A witness says the bus driver was on his cellphone at the time.

The bus license plate fell off about a block away. A witness said the driver was on his cellphone at the time of the crash.
