Several roads have reopened in Newark after a water main break caused damage and flooding.

NEWARK - Several roads have reopened in Newark after a water main break caused damage and flooding.

A 16-inch main broke near Fillmore and Market streets early Monday morning, causing water to flood the area.

Residents told News 12 New Jersey that their streets looked more like a river than a road.

The break also caused parts of the road to buckle in several places. Repairs have been completed.

The water main services some of the businesses in the Ironbound section of Newark.
