Newark Police Director Garry McCarthy may be leaving his post after nearly five years on the job.McCarthy had originally applied to the Chicago Police Department

NEWARK - Newark Police Director Garry McCarthy may be leaving his post after nearly five years on the job.

McCarthy had originally applied to the Chicago Police Department in 2003 but didn't get the job. Now, the Chicago police have selected him as one of three finalists to lead the department.

McCarthy says if he's picked to lead the Chicago police, he?s ready for the job.
