NEWARK - Some undercover vice operations have ceased under an order by the Newark Police Department Director Samuel DeMaio following a questionable operation.

The stop stems from a report that an undercover officer may have engaged in inappropriate activities with a suspect during an operation.

All of the officers involved in the bust have been placed on administrative duties.

DeMaio says he was surprised to find out there is no special training for vice officer and that until special training can be implemented, no undercover vice operations will be conducted without the director's prior approval.
