NEWARK - One local Imam, whose Mosque was targeted by NYPD surveillance, took out an ad in the Star-Ledger encouraging everyone to read the Quaran.

News 12 New Jersey sat down with the man behind the ad.

Imam Mustafa El-Amin says, "My main point there is saying point to the Quran. If you read it you will know we are regular folks just like everyone else." Imam El-Amin's Mosque, the Masjid Ibrahim, was one of dozens of mosques and businesses that ended up on an NYPD watch list four years ago.

The Imam says they have nothing to hide. Their doors and their faith is wide open.
