NEWARK - Some wet weather was not enough to damper a weekend festival in Newark, marking the city's 350-year history.

Many attended the Newark Celebration 350 Founders Weekend Festival at Military Park where performers Naughty by Nature and Robert Glasper Experiment took to the stage.

Rasha Fisher, also known as rapper Rah Digga, a Newark native, helped host the event.

"I feel obliged to give back because Newark has given so much to me and helped mold me into the woman that I am," said Fisher.

The celebration continues at Military Park on Sunday with a performance by Latin music recording artist India.

More events celebrating the city's 350-year history are scheduled throughout the year.
