Newark holds gun buyback at Police Department on Arlington Street

NEWARK - A gun buyback event is being held in Newark today.

Residents can turn in guns at the Newark Police Department on Arlington Street until 8 p.m.  Up to three guns can be surrendered and residents will be paid between $50 and $250 per gun.

The weapons surrendered will be turned into jewelry and sold to support future gun buyback programs.
