Newark Bears: Justin Bieber not performing at charity event

NEWARK - Justin Bieber will not perform at Newark Bears charity event this month as previously believed.

Representatives from the Newark Bears had thought they had booked the pop superstar to headline their Oct. 28 "Stadium of Screams" charity event.

According to Bieber's publicity team, the event is "pure fiction." The pop singer is committed to shows in St. Louis on Oct. 27and Dallas on Oct. 29, but nothing on Oct. 28.

Representatives for the Bears claim they believed they had a binding contract with a legitimate media group. The Newark Bears and the Newark Bears That Care Foundation are currently investigating a possible fraudulent representation of Justin Bieber.

Bieber is set to perform at the Izod Center on Nov. 9, however.
