SEASIDE HEIGHTS - Revelers didn't wait long to ring in the new year in Seaside Heights.

In order to comply with the shore town's 4 p.m. curfew, the Beachcomber Bar & Grill moved their year-end festivities to 3 p.m.

The early curfew was implemented after Sandy destroyed Seaside's boardwalk, its main source of commerce. The curfew is intended to deter nighttime looting of local businesses.

This afternoon's celebration marked the end of a difficult year for the shore town, as residents and business owners are still struggling to pick up the pieces after Sandy.
