EDISON - The new year is officially here, and so are the winter-like temperatures.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says Friday's daytime temperatures topped out in the mid-40s with mostly overcast skies.

Overnight temperatures will dip down to about 30 degrees in most of the state.

Saturday will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-40s, and Sunday will see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures mostly unchanged.

It will turn cooler for Monday, when the highs will top out around 34 degrees. There's also a chance for some scattered snow flurries to kick off the work week.
