WOODBRIDGE - Volunteers have come together to build a wheelchair-accessible home in Woodbridge for Eric LeGrand.

LeGrand, a former Rutgers football player, broke his neck at Metlife Stadium in 2010 during a game against the Army Black Knights.

The entire three-story home was built to consider the challenges he faces on a day-to-day basis, and it includes a physical therapy area.

The new home also has a back-up generator to maintain power and a full-house fire suppression system in case of an emergency.

American Properties, the Eric LeGrand Belief Fund and several suppliers donated materials and man-hours to help build the house from the ground up.

News 12 New Jersey is told that LeGrand was overjoyed about the home after seeing it for the first time this past week.
