New website allows students to bet on their grades

NEW BRUNSWICK - Students at Rutgers and Princeton will have more incentive this fall to get better grades thanks to a new website that allows them to bet on their grades.

The website, called Ultrinsic, lets students place a wager on how they think they will do in their courses. If they wager correctly, the website will pay them money.

For some students, the opportunity sounds like fun, but critics contend that the website is just code for gambling.

Rutgers says it has nothing to do with the website. A spokesman for the university said, ?When it comes to their grades, the best bet students can make is to study.?
