ASBURY PARK - New traffic patterns on the Garden State Parkway at the Jersey Shore are expected to cut down on aggressive driving.

Drivers coming out of the Asbury toll lanes from the right-hand side of the Parkway will no longer have access to the express lanes.

The change is expected to eliminate a merge that many say is dangerous. The new pattern is the result of a long traffic study.

“You don’t have anyone cutting you off now,” says Toms River resident Vito Pecoraro. “It’s a smooth ride, two lanes going right into one. Right into the other into the express.”

Officials say drivers have welcomed the new traffic patterns.
