FORT LEE - Officials broke ground today on a new residential development project in Fort Lee on a piece of land that's been sitting vacant for more than 40 years.

The new construction will sit right next to the George Washington Bridge.

SJP Developers are building two 47-story towers that will house 900 luxury apartments.

The complex will also include a pool, park, movie theater, and restaurant.

Some critics worry that the new buildings will spoil views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline.

SJP says the towers will be narrow and will still allow people to take in the view.
