SEASIDE HEIGHTS - The borough of Seaside Heights says that feral cats are running wild and a new proposal wants to send them to sanctuaries and eventually animal shelters.

According to the borough, the cats are not adoptable when captured.

Those who oppose the measure are saying that it could lead to the cats being euthanized.

The borough did say that existing cat colonies would remain even if they're in restricted areas.
