EDISON - A new initiative has been launched to prevent frauds in unemployment claims.

Gov. Chris Christie introduced a new anti-fraud measure yesterday that will require online filers to answer a series of questions to confirm their identity in an effort to thwart identity thieves from filing false claims.

Labor commissioner Harold Wirths says anti-fraud efforts have saved New Jersey $153 million over 18 months.
