New Jerseyans head outside on unseasonably warm Columbus Day

ASBURY PARK - As temperatures soared into the 80s with record-breaking temperatures, some New Jerseyans headed to the beach today to take advantage of the weather.

News 12 New Jersey spoke to some beachgoers who were just happy that the warmth and sunshine made an appearance on a day when many children were off from school.

Many engaged in summer activities such as stepping into the ocean, casting a fishing line or soaking up the sun in a beach chair on a day that seemed a lot more like it belonged in July rather than October.
