New Jersey Transit begins to resume service after big snowstorm

EDISON - New Jersey Transit's trains, buses and light rail are starting to come back online after a massive snowstorm hit the state.

NJ Transit light rail service resumed at 11 a.m. Rail service will fully resume once Amtrak finishes clearing some areas. Bus service will operate with delays and detours based on local roads.

Service had been suspended Saturday due to the monster storm that dropped up to 2 feet of snow in some parts of the state.

Gov. Chris Christie said earlier Sunday that riders should expect to see regular weekday service for the Monday morning commute. He urged riders to be careful, noting potentially slippery conditions at many bus stops and train stations.
