ISELIN - New Jersey Transit and Amtrak say that service on the Northeast Corridor has resumed with some residual delays after a trespasser fatality temporarily suspended trains.
The disruption in NJ Transit service included trains between Metropark and Trenton. Commuters experienced delays of up to an hour. The incident occurred near the Metropark station in Iselin.
Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New York is back online.
There have been 21 confirmed suicides on the tracks in New Jersey this year alone. NJ Transit has posted a suicide hotline number at all of their rail stations.
Officials have not released any further details on Monday's fatality.
