MILLBURN - A New Jersey actor who hit it big on Broadway is back in the Garden State wowing audiences in the theater where it all began for him.

Rob McClure is starring in "Honeymoon In Vegas: The Musical," a comedy about a reluctant groom who loses his fiancee in a poker game.

The world premiere is running at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn where McClure's career started. He grew up in New Milford and studied acting at Paper Mill Playhouse when he was in high school.

"I definitely remember in this very room thinking for the first time, I guess some people do this for their life," says McClure. "I didn't even know that was an option."

His first professional job was in the chorus of Carousel on the Paper Mill stage in 2001.

McClure even worked in the box office back then selling tickets. Now, people are buying tickets to see him.

McClure received a Tony Award nomination this year for playing Charlie Chaplin on Broadway, a role that changed his career.

The cast of "Honeymoon In Vegas" includes Tony Danza, the 62-year-old former sitcom actor who plays McClure's aging romantic rival. They hope the show moves to a Broadway theater soon.

"Honeymoon in Vegas the Musical" runs at Paper Mill Playhouse through Sunday, Oct. 27.
